We had a very busy November and December. Firstly, Chris Devaney visited our school to judge our mini-scientist entries. The lucky finalists were Robyn Walsh and Sarah Mulligan with Flower Power, an investigation into making the transportation of flowers more sustainable. The girls then went on to participate in the regional finals in Blanchardstown where they qualified for the finals in NUI Maynooth in February 2023. We wish the girls the very best of luck.
Next, we prepared our Christmas play performance. We prepared a play called The Celebrity Quest, in which preachers told us the tale of the battle between the Israelites and the Philistine’s where David defeated the mighty Goliath. We thoroughly enjoyed performing this play on stage in Newtown Hall and thank you to all those who came to see us perform.
Finally, we prepared for Christmas by creating clay decorations and winter scene paintings. We learned about fractions, decimals and percentages in Maths. In English we wrote Christmas stories to read to junior and senior infants during shared reading.
