September/October Update

This month the junior and senior infants have been very busy learning about and exploring the theme of Autumn and Halloween.

The children were busy making and serving up some delicious hot food and drinks in our role play – Cafe to keep us warm during the cold Autumn days.

The children had the opportunity during SESE to explore hibernation and autumnal changes and we went outside on an autumnal hunt, exploring changes to the leaves and collecting acorns from our school yard!

We all had the chance to play at our autumn sensory table which was made natural materials using coloured rice, acorns, leaves, twigs, wood, pine cones and autumn printed images.

We are all very excited about Halloween and we learnt about Halloween traditions during SESE and English. We practiced going trick or treating, went on a spooky walk and painting some spooky pumpkins and ghosts!
